How to Play Better Tennis in 2012

Living in 2012 can be fantastic.

We are able to do things globally at the touch of a button that not that long ago would have taken ages to do (if it could be done at all!!).

Just today (Sunday) I spent 90 mins working on a project with a buddy in Australia (while I was watching the French Open live from Paris) after which I did two 1 on 1 coaching calls with players living in Canada & Atlanta.

I dropped my eldest Son off at a new friends house using the GPS on my phone before heading back home (while taking a few calls on my bluetooth headset) and going out on a bike ride with my wife & youngest Son……..Funny how you almost take this stuff for granted now :-)

One of the biggest frustrations though is the impact I see the technology having on tennis players.

Yes, there is more tennis info available in whatever medium we want it but that is also a disaster for many players wanting to get better for a number of reasons.

1. More info does not equal better tennis – This is an indisputable fact.

If it wasn’t true, then getting better would just be a simple case of cramming more info in as fast as we could and like I said we have more now than we ever had before so there should be more tennis players playing well & at their max capacity.

2. With so much info out there, players get attracted to the next big “shiny object” and fly to it asap only to be distracted by another shiny tennis tip in the distance.

This results in players hopping from one thing to another because it’s so easy to do & in many cases they make the massive mistake of never completing or fixing stuff in their game just because starting something new seems so easy and enticing to do.

It’s like Tennis ADD.

Anyway, please check you are not falling foul of this as you look to improve your game.

Talking of which, if you are interested I have a really simple 7 action step process to help you produce your best tennis.

There are no tennis shots involved (as such)….it’s more of a higher level set of strategies that you use to set you up and would be equally applicable for both you & Federer, Nadal or Djokovic.

If you would like me to get it out there for everyone just leave me a comment below and tell me if you liked what would prefer it as a video or series of emails/blog posts & why.
